This week, pundits across the political spectrum are searching for meaning in the tenth anniversary of the United States’ invasion of Iraq. The decade-long campaign of bombings and occupation left hundreds of thousands of Iraqis dead and millions wounded, displaced, or scarred. Justified with lies about biological and chemical weapons that never existed, the senseless war cost U.S. tax-payers more than 3 trillion dollars, and far more in blood and shame. Tens of thousands of US soldiers were wounded or killed, and to this day, $490 billion is owed to veterans.
Many credit President Obama with the decision to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq, and almost none mention the fact that it was cables provided by Bradley Manning and published by WikiLeaks that made Obama’s attempt to keep troops there past the 2011 deadline impossible. As CNN reported in October of that year,
[Iraq and U.S.] negotiations were strained following WikiLeaks’ release of a diplomatic cable that alleged Iraqi civilians, including children, were killed in a 2006 raid by American troops rather than in an airstrike as the U.S. military initially reported.
Obama had wanted to keep troops beyond President Bush’s 2011 deadline, but required the condition that all U.S. soldiers be guaranteed legal immunity for their actions. Upon reading the WikiLeaks-released cables, the Iraqi government refused.
By revealing the hidden realities of the Iraq War, Pfc. Bradley Manning achieved his noble goal of sparking domestic debate, and he helped begin the end of an aggressive, violent, and counterproductive war.

Here are a few of WikiLeaks’ revelations about the U.S war in Iraq:
  • 15,000 more Iraqi civilians had been killed than were reported in any other count
  • U.S. soldiers were formally commanded not to investigate reports of torture committed by the Iraqi Federal Police with whom they cooperated
  • The American occupation of Iraq has failed to stabilize the widespread violence and corruption that has escalated following the destruction of Iraq's infrastructure
Embarrassed by the exposure of its failures, the military is seeking to make an example of Bradley Manning, and for this reason we must thank, support, and defend him. The government has chosen to pursue all 22 counts, amounting to a life sentence without parole, against Bradley when his court-martial trial finally begins on June 3.
We’re calling on supporters to descend in droves to Ft. Meade, MD, on June 1, 2013. President Obama and Gen. Martin Dempsey have already deemed Bradley guilty, pressuring Judge Denise Lind to follow suit, making it impossible for Bradley to receive a fair trial. The military court has failed to repudiate Bradley's unlawful torture and the violation of his right to a speedy trial. It has significantly hindered the defense's ability to discuss both Bradley’s motive to expose wrongdoing and the fact that no harm has come from WikiLeaks’ publications. So we must support Bradley both inside and outside the courtroom. We must express our outrage at the government’s attempts to send this generation’s Daniel Ellsberg to jail for life. Bradley Manning put his life and liberty on the line to inform his fellow Americans about a disturbing war’s darkest secrets, and on June 1, we must return the favor.

Cracks expanding like silky threads of a spider’s web

Drones Over DC...

I propose that we send over drones over DC since that is obviously where the most odious crimes are committed and the export of insidious terrorism originates from. So please do the right thing folks, and call your representative today to introduce a national campaign for; 'Drones Over DC' so that corruption, terrorism.,violence, terrorist-cells, unamerican activities and other high crimes and misdemeanors that are taking place in epidemic proportions in DC can be curtailed and then eliminated once and for all

          Living on the stardust of the past glories of yesterday-what could have been..Now we just send up secret military junk,call center satellites and if we want to send something wonderful we have to beg, then pay the russkies because most of our 'resources are not in education, research(save weapons)infrastructure...nope over 1/2 the federal budget is sucked up by the militarism and that boys and girls is a crime, a crime against you,against your kids and the rest of humanity...Your american,what are you going to do about it? Play dead? Salute the flag? Support the troops?
        Or are you going to wake up, realize your not just being screwed by lies,deception,false fears,pretexts,red-herrings but ROBBED,robbed of your future,robbed of your kids future so that the status-quo(your owners,who by the way-and it ain't the politician)who is ripping you off for massive profits in the military-corporate complex and their banking/wall street SHORT TERM profit margins while they glorify yesterday's accomplishments to bamboozle you by star-spangled-eyes, the sullied flag and rah rah propaganda bs for you to worship and keep your mouth shut about while the troops commit the most insidious crimes in your name.
        Your government does the most odious deeds like torture,murdering by drone children, medics and first responders,at weddings,at funerals and sells arms  to virtually anyone who will throttle their people for a bribe or two and military training for its own secret police trained by the CIA or at the School of Americas. Now this nightmare school in Georgia will train you in how to torture effectively and to kill with precision those who dare ask for rights or complain about their rights.
        Internationally illegal  aggressive violence and pure terrorism assaulted upon nations who have what we want to consume but won't sell at a discount or exclusively who dare not succumb to hectoring is not the act of an exceptional 'city on the hill'. Nor the unjustified boasting of almost all the leaders who shout at the top of their lungs; 'We are the greatest nation the world has even seen." Not even close. America is simply stated the greatest purveyor of violence and the largest exporter of terrorism in the world today and yet its a uninterrupted path from the day she was born.
         America has the vainglorious history of supporting proxies/dictatorships of nations who do as we say, not as we do...We are the monster,the bully of the global neighborhood and our forces straddle 151 nations with over 1000 bases and that is not only unprecedented, it is financially untenable. This empire spends 2.2 million a day on militarism and if you spent that 2/2 million every day since Jesus was born to the year 2011, you would have spent what this 'most christian' nation had spent on militarism just in one year-2011. We spend more on militarism than the whole rest of the planet combined and we have the largest military contract ever devised with one of the worst dictatorships-monarchies in the world who just happen to finance the very terrorism your leaders say they are fighting-'Whahabi extreme islam' (Wahhabi Islam, the primary religious movement behind extremist Islam, includes beliefs and doctrines not found elsewhere.").
        I am sure as well-informed american citizens you remember some of the members of that sect. 15 of them were the ones who performed 911 on you and yours and yet do you remember what Bush did? Did he go attack Saudi Arabia for fermenting anti-western hatred culminating in 911? Did he send the troops to overthrow that backward despotic dictatorship that was directly involved? Nope, he just allowed private planes to pick up his friends- 'the bin laden family' during the next couple of days(which by the way were the only flights allowed in the whole nation at the time-everything else was grounded-you, me, but not the bin ladens) and fly them home to Saudi Arabia. Now the FBI did go to Saudi Arabia later to do interviews with the bin laden family and others...But THEY WERE NOT ALLOWED to talk to them! Do you understand now? Its not about principles or values or even the nation or the people within, it is about profit, profit and power and nothing else matters to them. They simply hoodwink you and take advantage of your loyalties,nationalism and patriotism for their own means. This is not conspiratorial theory. This is simply the way things are and you,we need to do something about it,for our sake, the planets sake and the futures sake.
