War is never the answer...

War is Not The Answer



Stars will be spangled and the band will be playing
speeches tears and clapping  as the warriors arrive
and all the little school children all set up in the front row like little bowling pins

as one they stand to pledge as automations
and it looks so precise very fascist indeed
red and white and blue so true and pure

but then something happens
white pieces of paper start falling from the ceiling
each and everyone a name of a victim of a child that these heroes killed

Hundreds came down
thousands upon thousands
a blizzard shimmering glares it it piled to the ankles and then the thigh, higher and higher

names in blood as red as red could be
and with a photograph of each and everyone
every child, mother, sister brother father cousin uncle and aunt
silence was  bell tolling church organ

And as the last piece fell
a little girl she for the first time broke from the pack looked out the window of the school
and she saw a blue sign that said; 'war is not the answer'
and she wept....her path ahead, so much to do so many parents to teach
